Suu Kyi prepares for next govt meeting
Burma pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi will hold another round of talks with the new army-backed government, her spokesman said, following signs of a thaw in relations.
Friday’s meeting with labour minister Aung Kyi in Rangoon will be the third since the Nobel Peace Prize winner’s release from seven straight years of house arrest last November, shortly after a widely criticised election.
The opposition leader also met President Thein Sein — a former junta prime minister — in the capital Naypyidaw last month, one of several tentative signs that the regime is reaching out to its opponents.
Burma is now ruled by a nominally civilian government but its ranks are filled with former generals and the country still has about 2,000 political prisoners.
In an interview with AFP earlier this month, Suu Kyi said there had been “positive developments” in Burma, but added that it was unclear whether Thein Sein would be able to carry through his reform pledges.
Her spokesman Nyan Win said Friday’s meeting with Aung Kyi — the former liaison between Suu Kyi and the junta — would take place at the State Guest House, but he gave no information about what might be discussed.
The 66-year-old dissident’s National League for Democracy party won a 1990 election but was never allowed to take power.
Last month the daughter of Burma’s liberation hero General Aung San travelled unhindered on her first overtly political trip outside her home city since being released from detention, addressing thousands of supporters.
The international community has called for a number of reforms in Burma including the release of political detainees and an end to rights abuses, particularly against ethnic minorities.

That’s how the regime play their game to get the international community attention away from the heavy conflict fighting in the ethnic states which is on going in Shan State and Kachin State which caused lots of homeless, rape, torture and human rights abuse. They had talked and talked and talked but nothing came out. This is the brutal regime’s strategy to clean ethnic people.

Thin Sein governament can share the power Aung San Su Kyi as Prime minister.It is last solution for Militry governament.Thin Sein has big responsable to solve the problem between Army and Public.
Don’t take your eyes away from the worsening situations in the country — in the ethnic states, and with environmentally-damaging and communtiy-destroying megaprojects!
A few meetings with Daw Suu absolutely does not negate the necessity of a Commission of Inquiry for Burma in order to bring justice to the victims of human rights violations, which must come before any genuine national reconciliation is possible!
But International crisis group(ICG) supports than shwe that more, more talks is necessary without the need of war crime investigation. See more below.
ICG wrote that “do not investigate war crime against “than shwe”. The reason is that it will make than shwe being unable to change. My aim in here is telling about the ICG origin and asking questions to ICG president. ICG is non-profit , independent , nongovernmental organization and the president is Lousie Arbour(female, Lousie is mostly used in French name), holding Law degree and worked in the UN security council as a chief prosecutor for international criminal tribunals for Yugoslavia and for Rowanda. ICG annual budget is now 17millions. One said Chevron French company(making huge profit in Burmese gas with than shwe) gives financial support to ICG. The company reason for helping than shwe is that the French does not want Chinese influence in Burmese gas but than shwe is richer and richer. Than shwe can play game among French, India and China. I hope that the respectable female Lousie Arbour(LA) might not know this writing. If LA knows about this, I would like to give the following comment on her but it is not the personal attack. It is on her integrity, ethical issue and way of crisis handling ( ie below the standard to her education level and experiences).
(1)DASSK requests for war crime investigation but LA said it is not the right choice because than shwe will not change and might be more violent like before by doing so. LA gives many reasons for her beliefs so she knows more than DASSK because DASSK asks for investigation, not tribunal. LA wants more softer (peaceful) altitude to than shwe because DASSK is not soft enough to hold noble peace price(investigation is not soft enough for than shwe). LA has many honors except noble peace price. LA does not know about the tastes of the 15 years house arrest and criminal charge against DASSK- widow female in Insein prison.
LA accepts that the political prisoners in Burma are criminals as than shwe said. LA also agrees that Than shwe killing Bama and ethnics is legal because than shwe Nargis 2008 constitution and than shwe land slide presidential election victory are fair. LA agrees that than shwe Law is acceptable from her law degree in Canada. She studies in Canada and French and is working in Brussels now but she knows more about the Burmese people suffering and DASSK in the respect of history of bama military rulers. Those history are not applied for her(LA) thoughts and opinions on than shwe in her respectable crisis intervention. Getting more fund for ICG(now famous ) and receiving noble peace price might be more important now. LA is the best of the best for crisis intervention because she, medical practitioner knows psychology more than “than shwe”. Than shwe understanding psychology is from the bama tinny defense academy in Burma. This tinny academy produces a lot of thura, thiha , Maha brave national titles for killing fields ( killing own people, not foreign enemy) in Burma. Than shwe is the only one being capable to declare to the world in this civilized century that rape is the reward for ethnic battles because than shwe might know LA will be nice to him or else(noble peace price). LA might not believe it ( than shwe rape reward ) and it might be a female problem(not important for her).
(2)LA does not know why than shwe starts to talk with DASSK after many years of suppression. LA does not believe that it is due to Egypt and Libya bloody uprising. DASSK words to the world that it is the beginning of the beginning after many, many meetings and talks, nothing else and is also asking “persistent international attention to Burma democratic progress”. Peoples around the world sympathize her words and requests but it is not agreed by LA because stupid peoples(people power) around the world have not enough degrees and honors like LA.
LA forgets about the strength of China and Russian veto cards for than shwe favor because she no longer works for UN now. LA thinks than shwe is a 15 years(not 18-mature) old high school drop-out and LA wants to give than shwe a French wine or long bread to use the best negotiation method. Nice to than shwe and then, than shwe will be nice to Burmese people.
(3)LA think war crime investigation will cause than shwe more paranoid and more resistant to change. LA is a medial practitioner as a Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
She diagnoses that than shwe is suffering from psychosis so she forgives than shwe and avoids putting pressure on than shwe. LA wants than shwe to get better sleep and asks than shwe for medical treatment(give more time). Than shwe is not fit for international pressure as DASSK request. Burmese people are tolerance and religious so their suffering(60 years’ ethnics war and 50 years’ bama eruptions) is not as serious as Yugoslavia. Yugoslavia war can spread to EU(French) but Burmese ethnics’ war cannot spread to EU. Slow change and giving time for than shwe is necessary because of her (honorable president) effective crisis intervention method, 15 years old than shwe enjoying wine and long bread and than shwe being not fear of blood(bloody uprising). LA forgets how than shwe cheat Ne win, how to pull down Khin Nyunt and why than shwe is hitting more ethnic now after DASSK asks for second pinglong agreement. The difference between DASSK and LA is that LA has no noble piece(peace) price.

Yet, it intentionally failed to mention that election held in 1990 in Myanmar did not officially declare or acknowledge that the purpose of election was to transfer the power after the election. SLORC, military junta then repetitively cited before and after election, including in its the notification 1/90 that the transfer of power could only be done through the manner of state constitution, which needed to be drafted. National League for Democracy participated actively in the early phases of the constitutional drafting process between 1993 and 1995, but revoked by the direct order of Daw Aung San Su Kyi, soon after she was released after house arrest.
Only now she is dealing with Government…. And now she said, ““positive developments” and “it was unclear whether Thein Sein would be able to carry through his reform pledges”. Positive development without being clear if the president is willing to carry out his pledges? After 20 years waste of time without any tangible result under her leadership, what the heck means…?
What a shameless bias media DVB is… like that of Junta’s Kyaw San media.

Yes very likely Leo. I think his gesture to ASSK is inappropriate. He still needs to learn courteous manner and still needs to dump his army manner when it comes to civilian setting.
DASSK won the land slide victory in 1990 so she had a right to revoke the state constitution as she thought it was not appropriated or it was lack of national interest. DASSK was our elected leader at that time so what was wrong when she did not agree with the state constitution, manipulated by military rulers(dirty trick). DASSK is the only one in the world record who can win the election in 1990 during house arrest and is still receiving full Burmese support until now after her releasing from many years of house arrest(another world record). Dirty military rulers have firing guns and killing fields but the dirty is now fear of people power(even red ants phobia-Kyaw san) from DASSK so the dirty is requesting and crying talk with DASSK.
