Education in Burma’s is ranked amongst the worst in the world. Still based on a rote learning method that teaches through repetition, teachers have little opportunity to move outside the strict curriculum.

With a tiny proportion of the national budget, state schools do not have the funding, facilities or staff to provide any sort of extra curricular education.

On the panel this week: Curriculum Consultant Dr Myint Thein, Dr Thein Lwin from the National Network for Education Reform, Education Specialist for Unicef, Dr Khin Mon Nyein and Upper House MP U Thein Swe.
