Shwe must be officially executed in public. Just as was done after Nuremburg. He must be seen scared, crying and begging. All his Higher ups should receive the same fate.

Declare war on their military. It would be over in a short time, unlike the Iraq/Afghan occupations. A 10′s and any man who fired on civilians to be hung in public. Every last one. Commander first.

If this book by Benedict Rogers is half as informative on the life and political style of Than Shwe, as his book “A Land Without Evil” was on the history of, and the issues faced by the Karen People of Burma, it should be highly educational.
I only wish more Burmese citizens could read A Land Without Evil, so they could learn what Than Shwe and his predecessors have been ordering their sons to do behind the Bamboo Curtain in Eastern Burma.
I’ll be looking forward to Than Shwe: Unmasking Burma’s Tyrant!

I was astonished by the fact that someone who is closely allied with the dissidents claims to know extensive details but the country’s most secluded leader and write a book about him. Then all the data he relies on are the information from the dissidents and those who visit the country and meet Than Shwe for few hours. Did he dig out any military record? Battle record? Any (real) insider information? If now, how can one write a book on Than Shwe. To me, it is a waste of some trees by printing a book that is just to trash the regime but shows little analytical value.

Please, let me correct about Naypyidaw means “the Seat of Kings”. Naypyidaw means the capital where King has Palace. The seat of Kings is called “Thaloon”.

I am not entirely agreeable with this article in a sense it praise the remarkable power of Than Shwe and others. The systems created by Burmese military will always bring the reclusive ruler like him. How many Than Shwe do you want to see? no problem. Burmese military mechanism will give you as many Than Shwe as you like to see. It had produced General Ne Win, very quiet, unambitious, spineless, venom less and very obedient to civilian leaders of Burma in 50s and 60s, fifty years ago. When the time is ripe, Ne Win became ruthless murderer of Burma worshipped by general-turned-ghosts of the militarism. One of the ghost is Than Shwe. Now one of the ghost worshipping Than Shwe is patiently waiting for his time. The time is ripe, boom, there you get brand new dictator of Burma who will bring nuclear weapon to shield their cocoon from hypothetical American war ships` attack. So I do not praise Than Shwe at all. We must kill the military of Burma to get out of this vicious cycle of hell for oppressed Burmans and ethnics brothers. God bless the oppressed. If Than Shwe serves internet, I doubt, let him see this comment to educate him. Some one need to translate him in Burmese, please.

than shwe is very smart man, he will not do the mistake ne win and saw maung did in the past, nothing gonna change inside myanma as long as people are coward, only few brave burmese are in the jail for life time, nothing gonna change, people have to revolt army now, it is time to revolt nasty army of myanma. long live brave people of myanma.

I wonder who will be the brave person to tell Than Shwe that the Invasion of Burma is taking place. they might think that Thitsaphout Than Shwe cannot be disturbed. Yes and I agree with you about the Junta as well, I will definitely read Than Shwe: Unmasking Burma’s Tyrant.
